Hip hop museum in Memphis

SHELBY COUNTY, Tenn. - The Shelby County Government has begun the development process for a Hip-Hop Museum.

Shelby County Commissioner Mikell Lowery announced Wednesday that the county government will be collaborating with consulting firm AK Johnson Group and Trust Marketing to develop the museum, which "aims to celebrate the dynamic legacy of hip-hop culture while showcasing Shelby County's profound influence."

"As a hub of creativity and diversity, Shelby County should be recognized for its profound impact on hip-hop and hip-hop culture worldwide.  With the expertise of AK Johnson Group and Trust Marketing, we are confident in our ability to create a world-class museum experience that pays homage to Memphis and Shelby County," Commissioner Lowery said.
